Tommy watched his father come home from the war - after he was declared dead - and murder his mother's new lover. In the song '1921', Tommy is told that he 'didn't see it, hear it, and that he wont say nothing to no one'. Of course, he sees the whole thing from a mirror in the hall, and he becomes petrified, and traumatized.
Of course, that's what happens in the album. I haven't yet seen the movie.

tommys dad was suposed to be dead from the war,his mom was sleeping with someone and got cauth and she told tommy he didnt see it hear it and not to speak of it so he turned in to a deaf dumb blind kid

that is so not true
he saw his mother cheating on his father when he was at war (his dad ended up being killed in the war in the album, but in the movie he came back)
