From what i've gathered from the following references, it sounds as though this dream could be interpreted as signifying that you may have fear of some situation at work, and an inner wisdom, which you may need to drawn up, is confident that you can tie up these loose ends and succeed at what is vexing you.

The analysis can come from symbolism taken from your post but it's not absolute and there's a greater portion we inject into dreams that has more to do with our personality.
For instance, your dream could be interpreted that you owe gratitude to a mentor, latent thoughts that you have little time to express.
But this is inferred from the symbolism in just a few details of your dream and assumes the particular difficulty is an isolated dream opposed to something recurring.

You need to think about the day prior to the night you experienced the dream. Was their or is their an older man in your life that is trying to straighten you out or clean you up? Are you afraid of this person? Were you late for an appointment or meeting? Were you afraid you might be late for a meeting? There probably wasn't too much to it. If you are thinking there is a higher purpose to the dream, you should pray about to receive your answer and not ask a bunch of us schmucks here in this forum.

A street usually means a course you have an option of travelling.
Necktie warns against willfully choking off or smothering intellectual persuits or inquisitiveness over something.
It could have been your spirit guide helping you, or it may be a warning not to let a male figure in your life cut off your intellectual persuits along a path you choose to take.

There is no way to provide a "correct" explanation. It is a lot of guess work. You can try to interpret dreams into what YOU think they mean, but there is no real way to interpret dreams. Dreams are your brain's way of creating order amongst the chaos of your unconscious mind.

for no one can give you a correct answer, you must find the answer within yourself. Everyone has different symbols for different things. My opinion, maybe the old man is yourself all grown up, mature and wise. Maybe it's God just helping you out man. Maybe it's your idea of a grandfather possibly taking care of you. It's all up to you and what symbols you attribute to yourself, god, or gf. Hope I helped, if not sorry!
