There is no medium in space for the sound waves to travel through. Here on Earth there is air and water. Sound does not travel through space, because the gasses are not dense enough to carry the sound waves. Also, the sun is 93 million miles away. I don't think we would hear them anyway.

We don't hear explosions in the sun because:
1) we "hear" a sound because something caused vibrations in the air that travel to us & bounce off our ear. Our ear hears these vibrations as "sound". We hear the vibration of a guitar string because it vibrates the air & the air's vibrations travel to us.
2) We don't hear the explosions on the sun because there is no air between the sun & us to bring the vibrations to us.

This sounds similar to the old puzzle: If a tree falls in the forest, but noone is there, does it make a sound?
The answer is No.
It does make the vibrations in the earth & air, but it doesn't cause "sound" because nothing was there to detect the vibrations as "sound". Ripples in water are vibrations, but noone hears them - except if fish are around.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one was there to hear it did it make a sound? Same principle, there was no sound created for us to hear. Even if there was do you know how long it would take for that sound to travel all the way to earth?

Sounds needs some sort of medium to travel through, since there is no air in space, sound can't travel. If there was think how annoying life would be? lolz

Sound is a propagation of pressure waves, and it needs a medium to travel through, such as air or water. Sound simply does not exist and is never created in the absence of such a medium.

Sound cannot travel through space -- since space is nearly empty, there is no appropriate medium to travel through.
