I have analyzed all of the Teams and those that are clear runners for the NBA title reduce to 5:

Dallas Mavericks
Phoenix Suns
Miami Heat
Detroit Pistons
Denver Nuggets

Runner Ups:

Utah Jazz
San Antonio
Washington

The toughest teams are Detroit Pistons (with the acquisition of Webber); who are the only team that can beat Miami in the East and Dallas/Phoenix in the West.

Dallas has a well balanced team and are very athletic. The trio Nowitzki, Howard and Terry are the best, with Stackhouse coming from the bench. Phoenix has 6 top players in Amare, Shawn, Raja, Leandro, Diaw and Nash. They also have Jones, Banks and Thomas (who should return fron INJ). The depth of Phoenix is critical in semi and finals. My selection will be Phoenix as the strongest team in the West.

Now, Detroit in the East and Phoenix in the West is powerful - Defense vs. Offense. The defense of Detroit is very powerful that will stop many of the Phoenix players......

My selection to win the NBA title is Detroit (although I am not a Piston Fan)

The Pistons. There are 5 teams in the West, Mavs, Suns, Spurs, Lakers, and the Jazz and maybe the Rockets that can go win it all. In the East there are 4 teams that can reach the NBA Finals...Heat, Pistons, Cavs, and the Bulls. But in the end it will be the Pistons and the Suns playing for the NBA Championship and the Pistons will win it all...Defense wins CHAMPIONSHIPS...ENOUGH SAID.

The Dallas Mavericks. They clearly have the talent. Perhaps the only thing keeping them back last time was experience, especially with Nowitzki being rattled in the last two rounds of the playoffs. There's nobody in the East that should serve as as much of a challenge as the Heat did last year. The main competition should be against Phoenix, but the Suns' offensive scheme doesn't translate easily to playoff success, as we saw last year.

In the beginning of the season i thought that the Suns were unbeatable(not to say that they aren't now), but I'm seeing new teams starting unfold(even teams in East). I could see Dallas or, of course, the Phoenix Suns be the West champ. In the East it looks pretty clear that it would either be Toronto or Orlando, but anything could happen, its the NBA.

the clear favorite will be a team from the West
the East should just give up now haha
I think the Mavs or the Suns or even the "playoff savvy but boring" Spurs,, maybe even the Rockets(if theyre not injured)

No one. Though most pundits point to the Mavs or the Suns in the West and Pistons or Heat in the East battling for the trophy.

The Dallas Mavericks

Best Record, Experience, Deep Bench, Dirk Nowitzki, Great Offense and Defense

Miami Heat will repeat with a healthy Shaq and a hot shooting Kapono, D-Wade will be unstoppable. The Mavericks and Suns are great regular season teams, but that's about all I can say for them.

Actually, i dont think there is a clear fav.

In the West...it could be the Suns/Spurs/Mavs...

East...well, I think it'll be the Heat again, but the pistons have a shot.
