why are people with English accents so believable? The next business I get, I am only going to hire people with English accents to answer the phone. Why do they sound so believable?

I think I know the one you mean...Roswell? The British guy working it out methodically? At the end I felt like "ok that's acceptable to me, I buy that, makes sense." Maybe we're more sceptical of Americans because no matter what any one of us says there's always some Johnny on the spot to say just the opposite...and it all gets reported. We get to the point where we don't know what to believe. I even read some news account here and then start checking the BBC or Australia for confirmation. I totally see your point.

In Brittan, they hire American actors/actresses for the same reasons.
