Hi. I'm a first time Fantasy hockey player. I'm doing really well, in second place, only 3.5 points out of first. The third place team is more than 20 points behind me, so it's looking like a two horse race.

Playing a yahoo 12 team roto league. Standard 5x5 cats.

Anyhow, I'm really solid in all of the catagories except game winning goal. I'm in second place in goals, but ninth in GWG. I think that this is odd and am not sure how to deal with it. Any advice is welcome. Anyhow, here's my team:

C- Joe Sakic
C- Daniel Briere
LW- Simon Gagne
LW- Keith Tkachuk
RW- Steve Sullivan
RW- Marian Hossa
D- Marek Zidlicky
D- Lubomir Visnovsky
D- Kimmo Timonen
D- Ryan Whitney
BN- Peter Forsberg (C)
BN- Bill Guerin (RW)
BN- Rob Blake (D)

G- Roberto Luongo
G- Henrik Lundqvist
BN- Rick DiPietro

Thanks for the help.

if you want more GW goals, try to trade for a player who has a lot in the past month. usually if a player gets a couple of GW goals in a stretch of games, then he keeps on rolling and strings together a bunch of them.

another way you can get GW goals, is you can sort of guess who is going to get them. if the player's team is on a hot streak. like the penguins, maple leafs, red wings, wild, or lightning. you can pick up a player from one of those teams on free agents.

if you really want GW goals, try to trade for marian gaborik or henrik zetterberg because they are both really hot in the past month. although it may be difficult to get them.

as for your team in general, it is really good. but you should drop rob blake, he is terrible this year.

GWGs are just luck...obviously the probablities of succeeding in that column rise if you do well in goals, but that's not happening in your case. Even the yahoo fantasy experts are debating whether to eliminate GWGs.

actual GWGs can only are available in regulation, so Yahoo does no longer credit shootout winners. the rationalization that actual GWGs can only are available in regulation is by the fact targets scored in SO do no longer count type as targets. in any different case, you've a participant get a GWG devoid of scoring an exact purpose.
