Seven and WJB are the closest to correct. Ignore the rest as all the methods and chemicals they named will hurt and damage the paint if it gets on it.

To add to the other 2 answers....

Make sure you only use 1 side of the razor blade. Doesn't matter which side, but once you start, don't flip it. This is how scratches are put into glass. Glass can only handle one side of the blade.

Lacquer thinner, paint thinner, acetone all will work to losen the sticker and to remove any residue. If you can find a "widget", normally around the knives and blades, I would recomend it. Just a small plastic holder for the blade, gives you better control.

If this sticker is on the inside, and you have a re-window defroster. Be careful around the metal lines on the glass. To cut one will make the defroster not work. Razor the sticker per stripe and ignore the wire part, any of the chemicals above will then remove that thin sliver of residue.

If you want, fold up and lay a towel below the sticker on the paint, or even just put masking tape over that area. This will help prevent any sticker, sticking to the paint, keep any chemicals off the finish (they are all safe, but acetone will soften the paint after a bit so little caution). If you get any on the paint, that is fine. Just wipe it off and rewax that area.

I use lacquer thinner daily as part of my job and I wipe it on all parts of cars to remove fingernail scratches, scuff marks, paint mar marks, etc. Its safe for 99% of finishes out there.

If you have red or a black car. Take your finger or some wax and a towel and rub any part of the paint real hard. Check your finger or towel....if the color is now on the finger or towel....DO NOT use any chemicals on the finish nor around it. Mask and paper off the area if you get color transfer to finger/towel.

I do this for a living :)

1st peel all that you can off. 2nd get paint thinner from the hardware store and rub it all over the sticker. 3rd take a razor blade and scrape the remains off of the windshield. holding the razor blade at a slight angle about 1/8 of an inch at the finger position to the windshield. and let the cutting part peel the residue and then wipe again with paint thinner and you should be cured of that old bumper sticker. repeat if necessary.

Try using a hair-drier (at low heat) and a single edge blade. Be care full not to get it too hot, depending on the outside air temperature; if your in a cold area you could crack the glass with excessive heat. You could also dampen a rag with gasoline, then place it over the sticker and let it sit for about 5 to 10 mins.and then scrape off with a blade or putty knife.

I I didn't know widows were painted.
Most bumper stickers are based with either a water type glue, or alcohol.
Scrape it off with a new single edge razor blade.
The reaming glue can be removed by rubbing it with an old towel.
Try water first, if that doesn't work, use gas line antifreeze ( I:E: Heat )
You can buff the glass with 0000 steel wool.
It will not scratch the glass.
Plus it's pretty cool, when you light it with a Bic lighter.

Very easy. Use a razor blade to slip in between the glass and the sticker. Start a corner of the sticker. Once you have gotten one corner of the sticker up off the glass, you can pull on it to get it off. Ok?

You have paint on your rear windshield?
As for the bumper sticker, utilize boiled water and a plastic scraper.

Spray it with WD40 and wait about 10 minutes or so, then use a straight razor and scrape it off. It should be fairly easily and it is safe on glass and plastic.

I use a product called Undu for removing my parking decals. Works pretty good and can be found at most any big box store in the scrapbook section.
