so i have this friend who said he wishes he were dead and he always says things like that.
what should i say to him when he says that?

you need to tell someone about him so he dose not hurt himself and make you feel sad if he dose really do it. your friend is asking for help so HELP HIM out. Tell Him you are his friend and that he can count on you to talk to if he whats to get some help

Ask him point blank if he's thought about killing himself. Asking will not plant the idea if it's already there. If he has a plan (like shooting himself and he can get a gun) then he's at an even higher risk of actually doing something. Males are more successful at completing a suicide since they usually pick more lethal methods.

Tell him to be patient and sooner or later he is going to die any way. Just wait for the predestined time and place and what is supposed to happen will happen with certainty. There is no refuge from death and this our destiney. But since we are alive today, let's celebrate life and live each day as it comes and leave the tomrrow.

try to know his problem and y he wanna die. and then tell him "life is a struggle. everybody has different kinds of problems. he is not the only one who is suffering. losing battle to life is the greatest defeat. fight with ur problems and win the battle. and remember i'll be alwayes by your side."
