Oprah had him on her show every Tuesday for a few years, calling it Dr. Phil Tuesday. She helped him launch his show & he does have the background for his information.
He's written several books on relationships, one on families & a few about weight loss.

Oprah ... he helped her when she was being sued by those Texas Cattle Ranch people... who accused her of causing their meat sales to go down. Anyway, she loved his motivational encouragement and advice... and had him on her show. The rest is history. Don't forget that Oprah helped Rachel Ray get her start too.

oprah. aside from that i think he's funny as hell! i also think that he needs to follow his own weight loss advice.
