Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Been there, done that and I am much happier than I've ever been.
There will be ups and downs but in the longrun, it all works out for the better.

Are you letting go of old issues and starting over fresh?

Or letting go of a person and starting over with a new person?

letting go is a healthy thing. i had a hard time letting go so i went to a therapist. still do. its very rewarding to get a professionals view on everything and the situation. and she told me that i need to learn to love without expecting love back. letting go doesnt mean you stop feeling, it means you just accept what is a fact. and stop expecting anything to change because you "want" it. and i've been really happy. then one day you'll find out while you were moving on youve become a better person. and startign over doesnt mean you have to get someone new. to me starting over is going back to loving me. getting to know me. and spending time getting me healthy and happy. good luck!!

Life is too short to be in a miserable relationship. Get out, you will both be happier in the long run. I left a 27 year marriage and have not regreted one day of being on my own.

I've had to do it, and though it is very scary at first, it was the best decision I made. Sometimes its just best to walk away instead of staying around and fighting for something thats either not worth fighting for, or that has no hope of being fixed in the first place.

This would all depend on the situations and why you are thinking about breaking up with the person or divorcing them. I would need to know more about the question you are asking before being able to answer it in complete detail.
