Even though the Weasleys are poor, they are also proud. It would have been embarrassing for them all. Harry will help them out at other times when they aren't aware of where the aid is coming from.

That would be too humiliating for the Weasley's part, to have an orphaned boy who lives with the muggles pay for their children's things, and i'm sure that's what Harry was thinking. Also, he might have considered the fact that they would not accept the money even if he did offer to pay for the books.

He didn't want to offend the Weasleys' pride. They were like a family to him, and for a 12(?)-year-old to pay for books would have been insulting.

In one of the books, it was written that Harry would give all his money to Weasleys, but he knew they would never accept it.

I think that Harry, although having the means to pay for all the Weasley's books, wanted to maintain their pride and dignity. Even though they are aware of their financial situation, they want to know that Arthur Weasley, especially, able to provide for his family.

Even if Harry offered I don't think Ron would've let him. Remember when Ron didnt have enough money for treats off the trolley on the way to hogwarts and harry said "Dont worry, i've got it" Ron got annoyed with that

Pride, I think he knew that Weasley would of been mad at him. He also didn't want him to know he had a lot of money.
