I love Carissa. It sounds so sweet and dainty for a little baby girl.

Carissa is a beautiful name if the child is a boy. But in United Kingdom and here in South Africa, they give that name to girls.
I find that very strange and inhuman!! It is a great name nonetheless.

i think it's a lovely name - not too common but nothing to get teased about either. and carrie is a nice nickname, too. i also think it ages well. but is your real name karissa? i'm not sure about giving your daughter a very similar name to your own (if that's what you were planning on doing).
