My December period was about a week late (started beginning of January 2007) and extremely heavy and painful. My January period has not come, and it is now Feb 17th.

My period normally comes around the 26th +/- a day or two.

I have taken about 4 pregnancy tests, 1 was at a clinic, the other 3 were at home tests. They were all negative.

This morning I woke up with a bloody nose.

I understand that I could still be pregnant, but how soon until a test shows a positive reading. Is the nose a sign or something I should be worried about?

Also, could I have been pregnant before the late heavy period?

Thanks!

try seeing a doctor
i was going to suggest taking a pregnancy test but since you took 4.
bloody nose could be due to humidity...
it also depends on how old you are and if you had your tubes tied
if you had your tubes tied then you might be going through menopause
if you 50+then you're going through menopause...

Talk to your GYN about your symptoms. Search AMENORRHEA online, sudden ceasing of your menstrual. I've read that it is normal for some women to miss 1-2 per yr and not be pregnant, but check with doc after you have missed 3 consecutively. I would still request blood test to be sure of pregnancy results or something else. Try not to worry and see if it comes this month. I am going through the same thing right now and read that STRESS also plays major role in this dept.

it takes 4 weeks for a urine preg test to be positive. a nose bleed is not a sign of pregnancy. the most reliable sign besides a + test is very tender breasts that are enlarging.
Heavy bleeding is a common condition dont be alarmed. You should have it check out by a Doc, u may have a fibroid or maybe just a hormonal thing.

You need to do two things; get in to see your OB/GYN very soon for a full check up to see that all is normal. People miss periods and have heavy ones all the time.

Next, I suggest if you don't use birth control, you better get smart and get yourself on something and use protection from STD's too. But more importantly, learn to have respect for yourself and your body.

if you are having sex, then you can become pregnant. take a test from the drugstore- they are very accurate and cheaper than an ER visit.
if pregnant, decide what you are going to do. there is another life involved and you need to make better decisions.
if not pregnant, schedule an appointment w/Planned Parenthood and get a check up.
