Maybe ask your doctor what would be the best way to deal with OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Dissorder)
I have a slight touch of OCD, but it is not a real bad thing, It just means that people with OCD have to have things a certain way or they with freak out! Its kinda like a phobia...{for example:: i have to have my towels and wash cloths placed in a favored order,or another exaple:: i have to make sure that there isnt a hair out of place or that my make up is put on perfectly or i wont want to leave the house unless it looks perfect to me. another Example:: wash hands plenty times everytime you touch somthing, like doorknobs, money, hands& feet, pens pencils}, ...
Its when you know that you want to stop these habbits but ,something inside is just telling you that you have to do these things, or you will feel like somthing will go wrong if you dont .alot of people have it. but some cases of OCD are worse than others..you would just have to take it day by day, and ask the doctor about ways to kind of understand what your Dad is feeling and going though ..good luck!

I have it very badly, plus I am Bi-polar, and borderline personality... I take lithuim, and klonapin, and celexia.. it helps some, but my next DR visit in a week, I'm gonna tell him I really need something for the ocd, it makes my own family nuts!

I hate being that way, I want to stop, but it is rage inside of me, and if I cant do those rituals I will go crazy.

Well, get them some help. There are a couple of medications out there that will help lessen the effects.

For you, consider some counseling where you can vent about it safely.

OCD, for the one who asked, is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. The person that has it is driven to do certain things, like wash their hands 5 times in a row, or count all the tiles in a ceiling. They can't help these compulsions.
