If there was a "white movie awards show", how much of an uproar would that cause? So why isn't REVERSE racism considered racism by the people that practice it?

we live in a ridiculous world. it seems that because the blacks were opressed hundreds of years ago, we owe them their own award show, tv channel, month, etc.
how bout a white history month?

I have seen this question in various forms too many times to note. I've heard,"Why is there no White history month?" " Why aren't White people chosen for minority scholarships?", etc.... The answer that I always give is that mainstream American is designed for the benefit of Caucasians. For many years, people of color were entirely left out of the Academy Awards, The Grammy Awards, etc.. In the close to 80 years the Academy Awards have been in existence, 10 African Americans have won awards, in comparison to the thousands of Caucasians who have. Awards for minorities have been set up to recognize the contributions these groups have made and continue to make, without much acclaim and regard for their work. Without these, minority filmmakers would receive no recognition. I don't have a problem with a Caucasian protesting this type of an award show, it's a free country, knock yourself out.

Nothing would happen because the chances are that no decent white person would really want to go to a black awards show (except for the type of freak that turns up on "The white rapper show" or "I love New York"..two shows which do nothing less than make me shudder)...
I don't have a problem with there being a black awards show..i just think that if there is one there should also be a Native American one and an Asian one...shouldn't such things be done in proportion to the ethnic percentage of the population in order to be politically correct? Go ahead and air those terrible shows, BET and teach Black History.... in Detroit and other areas that are predominantly African American...why should I have to pay for that junk in my cable line up, or force my children to learn about the the fraud Martin King in school? It's not a part of MY culture..
Aren't there a considerable amount of black folks on the regular awards shows? And why is it that minorities screamed about discrimination and fought so hard to eliminate segregation..and then the minute they got it...what do they do? expect BLACK history month, BET, the NAACP...yeah, there's assimilation for you.

Ironically, you refusal to accept an only black show is an uproar and a statement of racism. The only think I can think of is the white people were never segregated, so we feel no separation. Blacks still feel a need for individuality.
I say we give it to them. It's the least we can do for what we did to their history.

White people still run this country and everything is always about the white person. So when Black people actually have something to claim for themselves after YEARS of being degraded by you white people then what does that white person does? Complain, complain, blah blah blah. Get a life, get God and leave us Black people alone!
BTW, white people invented the concept of racism so get used to it, because it's your fault it's here in this world now creating havoc in our lives.

Eminem has already recieved an award from BET. Geez! how many awards do we have to give you people.

BET is not "black people's" it owned by viacom.
NAACP image awards are run by white people to. So your complaining to the worng people.

Nobody would care because everyone is too PC. And its not "Reverse racism", its just plain racism.
Blacks are allowed to be racist in America....
