They are difficult because of all the peer pressure around you. You are trying to find who you really are, and form who you want to be. It is hard to do these things if no one else is doing them. Stand up for what you believe in no madder how stupid you look.

Being a teenager is difficult because you are not really still a child but you are not yet an adult. It's a time of transition and experimenting. It's awesome that you've made up your mind not to get sucked into the bad stuff that many teenagers get mixed up with. Teenagers often do not realize there are serious consequences to their actions. I'd encourage you to be yourself and not afraid to stand up for yourself and what you believe in. You will both be successful and well liked because people will be attracted to your confidence and leadership.

For most, the teenage years are simply a time for frivolous self discovery. Many kids use it as an excuse to get away with out having to think about thier actions. And to be honest, it really is a time of learning repercussions for your actions.
But if you have an ingrained sense of integrity, morality, determination, these pivotal years can be the best investment on a choosen path for a decent life filled with the values you start valuing and pursuing right now.
The aim of these years should be to instill a work ethic, to instilll morality, to instill judgement.
So basically, when it all comes down to it, do the right thing.
Take your chances, work hard, and dont hurt nobody.
And when the bad elements approach, show you have your own direction and dont need their experimental phase arguements.
Ive met some pretty squared away teens, who acted responsibly, worked hard, and never needed to get into the sex, violence, or mischief that your everyday teen gets into.
Pick a path, work hard for it, and try helping people along the way. And if everyone around you wants to do bad things, then its up to you to find people who share your same interests, because youll feed off eachother, motivate eachother, and help eachother to succeed.
The cliche is be careful who you hang around with, and its so true. So, hang around with people with integrity, hard work values, they'll bring out the best in you.
where most your every day teens seem to get too consumed by all temptations and peer pressure, that they actually bring out the worst in a person
Its a confusing time, but like I picked up along the way,
its not a matter of we are who we think we are.
Its a matter of what we think about, is waht makes us who we are.
So, focus on the good values and opportunities in this life.
Dream big! But only if youre willing to work hard!
The rest is just a matter of putting in the effort, having no time for the childish stuff, and everyday brings you closer to your goals
Keep it that simple

you know when i was a teenager i hated it. but looking back it was a blast. Its a transition from child to adult and your hormones are going to go crazy. Remember this, right now you are in a time where its going to reflect the rest of your life. My friends always pressured me and yes i did somethings to be kewl. But you know what when something bad happens your friends arent going to no where to be found, instead itll be your family the people who love and care about you deeply. you know something im 26 and I learned something my senior year who cares what people think because when high school is done ill never see anyone again and for the most part i havent. and btw you have the rest of your life to be independant. Enjoy your freedom now because when you move out youll have bills and no extra spending money.

We all have a part of us that wants to be a leader and not a follower. Myself especially. But when we see others who are doing or not doing something, we can still end up following the crowd. Personally even though I find the preteen and teenage years to be difficult, I still enjoy them. And to answer your question, teenage years are difficult because of peer pressure, evil teachers, mountains of homework, the list goes on forever...

Teenage years are difficult because you're not a child, and not really an adult. You're trying to find out who you really are and find your place in the world. Also your hormones are raging, which throws your emotions off. The best thing to do is to stay away from bad people, get a good education and listen to your parents. They love you and will never stear you wrong.

Teenage years are hard on everybody! Our hormones rage through our bodies and we can't control them. We're in love one moment, and hate the person the next. We're constantly envious of what others have. We always try to find ways to stand out, and yet we want to fit in. (the ultimate paradox!lol) We want to be independent, yet we still need our parents.
Would that we COULD skip these years!

I hated them too, but only because I was depressed and had a bad home life. Most adults say the teenage years were the best most fun years of their lives.

Everyone who turned out to be anyone hated being a teenager. I hated my teen years too. Remember Bill Gate's quote "Be nice to the geek, you may be working for him one day". It honestly gets so much better in your 20's...
As for why teenagers seem a little crazy :) take a look at the PBS link below.
