Fleetwood Mac. Their Rumours album was a standard disc for demoing stereo systems in stores back in the day. Many Recording Engineers still reference it today (including myself) even though it was analog. It's an absolute classic recorded at The Record Plant, Wally Heider Recording Studios and Criteria in Miami. The way the bass and kick work together is pure perfection. Another good choice is the Eagle's first album. George Martin engineered. The bass and kick sound like a well-tuned rubber band! As for playing party music on a bass without the rest of the band??? What can I say? Then again you might buy a drumulator and do kick and bass solos?
