I have been doing alarms/remote starts for many years now. Do not.... I repeat.... DO NOT use the systems from the auto parts stores. They have cheap relays that could damage your starter by not letting the starter go. You dont want to skimp on a remote start. I highly recommend directed electronics brands. You will average between 299-450 bucks depending on how extravagant the system is, but it is well worth it. Most of directeds stuff carrys lifetime warrantys if installed by a pro!!

I got a present of a cheapie remote from Auto Zone for the remote start for my 98 Chrysler van and I haven't a problem yet. And I even installed it myself, cuz the minimum around here was 300 and I think I did it for 80. I am satisfied. Of course, It was a gift from my brother though, so I can't complain and still working good since 7 Jul 2006

Most all will with the correct programing.
But you have to remember that with a stick you will have to leave the tranny. in neutral for it to work.
The systems designed to handle this have sensors that are installed on the shifter, so the unit knows when the car is out of gear.
