There was this movie that came on disney channel around the early 90s. It was about a babysitter that made some wish and this owl steals the baby. She goes in this magical/alternate universe searching for the baby. Its a big adventure movie..with twist and turns. I really hope someone knows the name of this awesome movie, i loved as a kid.

It sounds a bit like Labyrinth, which came out in 1986, and was directed by Jim Henson (yep, the Muppet guy).

Here's the basic plot: "Young Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) is left home alone by her parents and she has to babysit her little brother Toby. But the baby keeps crying and Sarah, while telling him a story to make him sleep, inadvertently conjures from a fantasy world the Goblin King (David Bowie) who steals the child and brings him to his castle in the middle of a labyrinth. Sarah has to rescue him before midnight, or the baby will became a goblin..."

While this may not be the movie your asking about, it's still a great film that I think you'd enjoy.
