My hubby is coming home from Iraq for a two week break in less than a month. I bought a really pretty dress, and I am going to buy some heels and do my hair with some soft curls. Do you think this would be too much to go to the airport in when I pick him up? Or do you think it is a cute idea? I want to show him that him coming home is a really big deal!
Also, he doesn't know it, but I have heard I can speak to the managers/supervisors at the airline and get them to let me through security to wait outside the gate, rather than at baggage claim.
What do you guys and girls think?

I am SO excited I can't even contain my emotions. I want to tell everyone that my hubby is coming home. I smile to myself ALL the time knowing what a great, loving, sweet, caring husband I have. I have been looking forward to this moment since the day I had to watch him leave. Thank you all for your answers.

l think it's a great idea and l'm sure he will love it. He has probably missed you so much that he wouldn't care if you were wearing a rubbish bag but the fact that you want to make it special for him is really sweet. l'm sure he will appreciate the effort you have put in for him. You two have a wonderful two weeks together and hopefully it won't be too long before he's home for good.

I think it is a good start. I'm sure he is thinking about you and getting excited the entire trip home.
Consider also planning a surprise for him.
Make reservations for dinner at somewhere he likes nearby.... or something else you know he would like...
But whatever you wear when he first sees you will be burned into his mind so giving him a nice image of his wife in a sexy dress will be in his mind forever... go for it...

My gawd if you have no kids as well, then light the freaking candles and have a home cooked meal for the man, and yes sweets doll yourself up to a TEE, he will so love it, think about the months he's been without you he is going to have so much fun with you, make it worth everything, its not cute what your going to do but a wonderful thing your going to do and he won't forget it

This is perfect sexy and romantic all at the same time. So not it is not too extreme at all. He will love it. Go for it girl:) Make sure you pounce on him and love on him big time when you see him! That is absoluty wonderful!!!! I love it when women go NICE things to their hubbys!!!! I am so glad you want to welcome your Sailor/Soilder/Pilot/Marine home by looking your best! He will be so happy!!!! I don't think you can meet him at the gate, But be waiting at teh security gates and great him with a big kiss and even bigger hugs!!
And be sure to have lots and lots and lots and lots of love making on your arrival home ;-)

go all out while he's home-while you can.
who cares what ppl think and everyone on his flight will know that he's coming from Iraq (the flight attendants allows announce when we have soldiers on board) so they'll get it anyways. and he'll prob be in his uniform.
i think it will make him feel special and missed.
