one cute idea: if ur creative and crafty put together a scrapbook! it is inexpensive, all you need to really buy is the book itself, perhaps some accessory decorations/markers/glue. any pictures, movie tickets, wristbands, little items from your wedding, etc etc... the list is endless. you can put together a chronoligical timeline of ur relationship.. make it cute. he will appreciate it so much and you can both share it for years to come =) these kinds of presents can be better than expensive boring presents.. like cologne. haha. =) good luck on finding the perfect gift

Hi Anna,
Make sure that you plan for no interruptions (send the children notes to stay away for the evening...). Rent a couple of movies, get some snacks that you both enjoy (like popcorn & soda), dim the lights, light candles, wear you pajamas and enjoy the evening together. After the movie you can enjoy a couple of hot dogs and spend the evening together. Make sure that he knows how special you think that he is. My wife is always able to do things with me when I am feeling down. I was also a workaholic until my disability. She is the greatest woman in the world. We have three children, one grandchild, and 31 years together. I am as faithful as anyone that you will ever know. We are both Christians and have been for over 20 years. Have a great day!

You may already do this on a pretty regular basis, but my thought would be to have a nice, romantic, candle light dinner, just the two of you, at home would be okay. I don't know how much you want to fix for the dinner, but maybe fried chicken, potato salad, etc., or lasagna, salad, etc. A really nice card also would be nice. Maybe write a poem for him, expressing your love and appreciation for him. Or a letter doing the same would be good too. Maybe go to a movie together? After the dinner? Have a good time celebrating his birthday! Take care.

A nice hand-written letter with all your good memories written out in your hand is always heartwarming. It's not how much you spend, it's the thought that goes behind it. If he works a lot, books on tape are great for the commute, a bible cover perhaps, clothes, or any other practical gift. He sounds rather conservative, so go that route and you should be able to come in under budget.

The only I have is Buy him some movies or maybe a new dvd/vcr combo?
How about a cool surround sound system so when he has time off of work he can kick back and watch movies with theater quality surround sound?

How about one of his favorite movies on DVD, a nice picture of yourself in a really nice frame for his desk, or a personalized bible with his name on the front cover.

why don't you send the kids to a friends house. cook him dinner, give him a massage, watch a movie, do whatever he wants. just reconnect with him and show him how much you love and care about him.

Fix him his favorite meal for dinner, and later give him a massage. As a gift, get him one of his favorite movies on DVD, or more than one if you can afford it.

try something related to work, since he's a "workaholic" anyway.
if you're into crafts, try making him something. that will make the gift meaningful.
