The current concept is to do your daylight look with additional accents on the eyes. i am a big fan of using a dusting of gold on the brow, it makes for a more dramatic look, and works especially well in low light. The big key is to either go big on the eyes or big on the lips, not both. so a nice neutral lip, close to you lip color, but with a nice gloss for evening, your usual eyes, but deeper, extra coats of mascara, and add some gold to the brow( you can also dust a little gold on the sweep from the top of the cheekbone up next to the eye for a little drama, but be subtle!
I hope you have a great time.

A subtle pink shade or a pink shade with sparkle is fine. Also try if you like funky light green, or yellow but I think pink would be the best. I had a candy pink prom dress and went with a light cotton candy pink with shimmer from mac cosmetics. Look at shades on the mac web site because they have very good colours and can give you advice, also a little shadow goes along way. there web site is www.maccosmetics.com
hope that helps.

I recommend a powder instead of a foundation (clinique's real compact foundation), a light brown shadow around the creases, and a medium brown liner on top lashes only. Try a dramatic mascara, like clinique's high inpact mascara or a shu uemura mascara. For a finishing touch, try a cute pink gloss, like maybelline's shiny-licious gloss in lolly-pink!!

I agree with you, a dark look wouldn't go with your soft dress.
I'd recommend two looks:
First, a classic, retro look, with a neutral color palette...like Drew Barrymore at this year's Golden Globes (who also wore pink) or Jessica Alba at the Oscar's last year. You know, very polished liquid liner on top lashes; soft, glossy lips.
Second: the glowing shimmery skin look. Use a highlighting foundation (like Benefit's Hollywood-Glo), and shimmery shadows; just don't overdo it and end up looking like a disco ball or like you have major oily skin.
Go to a makeup counter (personally, I love MAC, you can't beat their color range), bring ideas, pictures, etc.; you'll get top quality products and for free. Just call ahead.

Go to one of the higher end department stores, or a place like ULTA. Ask the sales people for a make-up session. They usually do that for free, but buy something. You'll have your make-up done professionally & be the best looking gal there! Have fun!!
