You don't think you invented the football fan do you? We have some of the most sensible and sane people (usually men) who go absolutely insane when it comes to 'their' team. I live in a city where half the male population wear red and white stripey tops practically all the time. Twelve miles north, they wear black and white stripey tops almost all the time and while they might be reasonable and intellectually advance specimens, when it comes to the beautiful game, neanderthals could beat them at a game of chess and the closest of brothers could come to blows.
I don't like sports, especially that one but it's certainly not stupid. We all get excited over something. My excitment is reserved for academic subjects. I could quit easily lose all sense of reason whilst discussing the universal constants.
I believe Europeans get all het up over sport too. I'm English - not European.

No, Europeans do not think Americans are stupid for going to football games. They have plenty of other reasons.

No, that is the last reason. In my view Europeans are just as bad - especially we Brits with our footy - pathetic.
However, we do think you're a bit stupid for trying to adapt a couple of perfectly good games like football, rounders and netball.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
PS I only like playing tennis, don't understand "spectator" sports at all.......

No, the Euros are too busy going to Soccer (they call it football) games.
Watching Sports is UNIVERSAL. Not American in nature; sorry.
Stupid politicians are also NOT an American invention, ...
I think you got to get over your American pride of being the "best" at everything including, being "annoying".
Just kidding. I think as an American, you have ALOT to be PROUD of. Obviously there are things that can be improved by that is part of life.
By the way, hockey is a much better sport to watch tho. That said, one of my FAVORITE Americans, (I loving father who died of cancer) was a HUGE baseball fan. He always told me to pick a team. If you pick a team, you'll enjoy sports more.
Sports do present a social setting where people can relate to either other and enjoy.
All is good in moderation.
As for the 'crap' americans eat. Lots of good stuff to eat there too. McDonalds may be unhealthy but that company has spread its wares the world over.
Excuse me I'm going to have a coke now.
(I'm mad at Hersey right now tho, cause some %$ in Penns, decided to lay off 600 Canadian employees at a choc. plant there in moving the jobs to mexico but you guys get lots of that too.
The Mexican's guys jobs get moved to china.)

that's non-sense a person just cannot hate another one because of his country mistakes or even culture. If you like watching sports No one has nothing to do with that , i guess there are alot of Americans who do not like watching sports either. Football is the culture of your country and i think you should watch it and praise your Folk's culture.
Whether there are Europeans who hate people because of their culture if think there are totally ignorant. it isn't worth to keep hate in you inner because of people's culture or the way they run with their lives.
