if you are trying to get your deposit back it will have to be almost better then when you moved in. i would see if they charge you for having to paint before they rent etc...
one of the property management companies we rented from at one time gave us a price guide as to what they charge to clean after you move. it didn't leave nothing out including a $3 charge for each door handle they would have to wipe.

Make it look as good if not better than it did when u moved in if u are trying for the highest percent return on your deposit. Everything that they have to do themselves will cost you parts and or labor. Clean bathrooms and Kitchens entirely. Fix nail holes and ask the manager for touch up paint. They will usually give this with no questions asked. If the walls are too bad, let that come out of your deposit. Reason is, if your touch up job doesn't look right they will do it again and charge you anyway. Which will be a waste of time. Make sure every door, cabinet and drawer is intact and funtioning properly. Blinds need to be in good shape and functioning. I'd hire out the carpet cleaning if it was heavily soiled or let that come out of the deposit, because if it's not done right they have to have it done and charge you anyway. Always leave on a friendly basis because you do want to keep all your references good.

If you plan on looking for an apartment in the future, I would make sure the apartment is cleaned very well before you leave. Why? Because some landlords and apartment boards that you are looking to rent from may be looking for a reference. This may be helpful for you to leave on a good note in order to obtain a good reference. It also depends on where you look for some land lords may not be looking for a reference. Hope this helps.

It just depends.. if it is a small apartment complex and the landlord knows you well then they might go easy on you. If the apartment is owned by a management company then they are going to try to squeeze every dime out of your deposit.

When my roomates and I moved out of our apartment after we graduated from college, we busted our asses cleaning up the place. In the walkthrough, the manager pointed out seemingly minor things, like cobwebs in our textured ceiling and a little dust on the window blinds. Then they charged us $200 for a "medium cleaning" with no itemized list of what needed to be cleaned, according to the state law. We could have taken them to small claims court, but it wasn't worth the bother, especially since I moved 3 hours away.

So, don't expect to get all of your deposit back. And don't put too much of your energy into cleaning the apartment, just clean up any obvious problems.

Ask your manager if they have a list of specific things they inspect or at least some guidelines. Every place has slightly different standards. If they give you theirs in writing and stick to that standard, you should be fine.

Make sure to have a few cleaning supplies handy at the final inspection just in case they find something minor you can correct.

Mostly they are looking for any damage that needs to be repaired. Fix any nail holes from hanging pictures, clean any stains. Take out any trash or junk. Then a normal vacuuming and dusting should take care of everything.

It is in your best interest to be there when they do their walk through. If you are not there, they could put down just about anything if they are unscrupulous.

regrettably it truly is out of your rubber backing on the mat. there is no longer something to sparkling it. it may might want to get replaced once you bypass out and also you would possibly want to be charged, searching on how previous the vinyl is, you would possibly want to be prorated from the time it replaced into put in. the most suitable ingredient to apply on your partitions is sheetrock dirt. Hardware shops in many situations have small tubs of this and is in many situations stated as joint compound. Use your finger to fill the small holes and then wipe away the further. very almost undetectable. I actually were contained in the homestead marketplace for nearly 20 years. we fairly have an addendum further to our employ pointing out now to not use rubber sponsored rugs contained in the kitchens or bogs. sturdy luck.
