I agree with both 1 and 2, and have installed a lot of carpet. Your issue may get close through an indepth search, but you'd be better served looking for a piece 5 yds x 3 yds, and use the excess for runners or doorway mats.

15 ft (5 yd) "WIDTHS" are available, but most often are more geared toward commercial installs.

Providing you are asking about carpet, yes you can get 14 x 7 or a little bigger then cut it. The others are correct regarding the standard width of carpet, what they didn't take into consideration is the fact that many times carpet will have to be cut down from the standard width and then there are remnants that are narrower. Look in you yellow pages for carpet stores, call them and ask if they have remnants, here we have a place called the carpet outlet and they have a warehouse full of various size remenants.

The only carpet that is that wide, that I know about, are some designs of berber, which come in 15' widths. Most, however, come in a standard 12' width. I've installed the 15' widths before, but seldom.

umm a 14x12 rem is all you need. rugs arnt directional usually.

you ll buy the 12 x 14 rem, cut off 5 ft and there you go. your width doesnt have to be 12 wide
