I've found myself trying to get people to get on but sometimes its very draining for me, there are people I do not like particulary, but I still have Courtesy and try to be civil with them, what makes it hard is when hatred is so intense that it makes life miserable. Surely what do you think should be a common ground for a community with different perspective that is making life worse than it already is.?

Ok dreaming is good, am not saying I want to change the world but its the little things that dont cost much that I want to tap into. At the end of the day... whats better, love, hate or understanding.. given a choice of the three above; Love/hate....love/understand....hate/love etc. give a combination for humans that would bring peace. Its not an imposible task, am sure because I can see the effort you put to answering the question... there is hope in the end...

I would say you are a dreamer. But a dreamer with passion. ( Good thing to have. )
I have the same problem, but with family members.
I want everyone to get along, but I know it's a strain. I have everyone coming to my house for xmas this year.
There are members who would rather eat razor blades than be in the same room as others, so I have to try to somehow get them all to calm down, for at least one damn day, so I can say we had one nice family xmas in our lives.

Ethologists (comparative psychologists) take the view that human behaviour can be understood by the analysis of the animal kingdom - they approach from from the Darwinian perspective of struggle & survival. In that case - conflict & territorial behaviour is hardwired into the brain. Also - sociobiologists come from the approach that any good deed is only done in the expectation of a reward & that everyone is basically selfish. Might be very cynical - but theres a whole body of knowledge that is difficult to ignore. Civility is a thin veneer that covers our survival instinct to get more, do more & be more.

Yes it's normal to want everyone to get on but through my own experiences; i realise that is a very utopian view and people rather take my kindness for weakness. Nonetheless, I carry on believing the best in people because I try not to let a few 'bad apples' to hinder me from believing that there are other nice people out there with the same views. Hang on in there, sweety......Carry on being the best person you can be but at the same time realise you cannot please everybody.

I am sorry; get on with what? People deal with life differently. It is very individualistic. Each has unique problems and ways of dealing with those problems. Some people struggle to live. Others live to struggle. Still others have another life-style. That's life. Life is difficult. It is near impossible at times. You will learn to deal with your issues and problems in your way. I accept that. Good luck!
Hope I didn't miss the point.

People as a whole will never get along together, but people as individuals will. While wishing everyone could is good, I doubt that there will be any force in the universe to actually get us all to forget our petty problems and focus on advancing our civilisation for the better.

I think and hope it's normal to want to react in the nicest best way I can even when I am abused by those who don't know any better. Those better than all of us are watching, inspiring and leading...and when we are nice ( and it takes strength in the situation you describe) we develop strength to pull in more inspiration..... but people who act badly only attract more of the negative force and forces.......it will take the stuffing out of them if they turn weak and go with it.

You're expecting the impossible and you will end up with nothing but resentments. Also people will walk all over you, use you, then spit you out. Just do your best but do not go overboard or allow people to use you. Youre inviting abuse.
