I am tired of reading about Anna Nicole Smith's death and all the rumours of the father of her baby, etc. and now I'm getting tired of reading about Britney Spear's new haircut.Come on people, don't you have a life?

The government likes people to be obsessed with celebrities.
Right now Anna Nicole is bigger news than 3000+ soldiers killed in Iraq for a war started on false pretenses.

No, our lives are entirely too boring. Celebrities lives are so much more interesting and scandelous, makes for some great conversations. However, in both of these cases, I can't help feeling sorry for them as they both just couldn't handle this whole "Famous" thing. If Britney doesn't smarten up, she may head to the same fate as Anna Nicole (especially if she is mixed up with drugs and alcohol). You hate to see people make such poor choices. I feel like I know them...as we watch them everyday.

The world has grown smaller though tv and the media coverage. Our obsession with celebrity is ridiculous. I think some people use it as a means of escape. It creates a lot of stress , especially for young people with Walmart pocketbooks trying to dress like they came fresh from Rodeo Drive. I haven't seen Britney's new doo, but I'm sure I will not escape it, as I stand in the check out line with my groceries on Monday. I'm glad I do not have to look on the pages of doctored magazines at photos of average looking women made beautiful with plastic surgery, false eyelashes, plastic breasts, and practiced smiles to find my own identity.

"Come on people, don't you have a life?"
There's yer answer.

Also because the real problems in the world are far too big to deal with, seeing as individual humans no longer have any power over our governments, so it's a nice distraction. Or you could take the "V for Vendetta" solution to the governments. The first option is just easier.

True we all have our own lives. However, celebrities can lead some outrageous lives--your two choices are perfect examples. They do things that secretly we would love to do--or despise.

I think it ingrained human nature to enjoy watching someone fall completely apart --particularly in front of the entire world--that makes people not able to get enough of them.

I think people are obsessed because they see these people looking fabulous which is mostly smoke and mirrors basically, they wear tons of makeup and hide their face, and wear these outrageous costumes and they seem to have it all, money fame and power, that's what we want and we emulate them. But in all reality they have it just as bad as some people. I don't think that celebs should be adored because down deep they are just like everyone else. they take their makeup off and you wouldn't know them if you seen them. Nor would you want to :(

o.k. i confess. i am amazed by them.why?they make soo much money & spend it it soo stupidly.it reallymakes me laugh at some of the awful stuff they wear-at THOSE prices.they have associates for everything, because a lot of them didn`t even finish high school.they are always being ripped off by their manager or th"candy man". some are train wrecks waiting to happen.i don`t even want to go on about plastic surgery

I know, I should care less about celebrated
people. I see people falling over one another
to get an autograph. The only time I like to see
their autograph is on a check made out to me.

People are into reading that stuff because they don't have anything better to do with themselves. They lead a boring life and look to the other idiots so they will feel better about themsleves and their life.
