I think it's sad that a mother has to fight for her right to bury her own daughter. What's your opinion?

I love all the answers, somethings to think about. Because I think Howard is fishy and is the reason that Anna and her mother were estranged (Howard estranged many of Anna's relationships), I think she couldn't stand up to him. I think he intentionally kept her drugged so she couldn't think clearly and just go along with whatever he said. I think the mother should get her body and move both her and Daniel's body down to Texas. The Bahamas was Howard's idea too, I'm sure. That man should not get the say on all these matters; it's just not right!

Her mother should get her but she should bury her beside Daniel in the Bahamas. She bought a plot beside her son. I really think Howard is a snake and on MSNBC this morning, something very interesting came out.
A reporter from Access Hollywood told MSNBC that he found out that Howard Stern has sold the exclusive rights to Anna Nicole's funeral and is trying to coordinate it with a Trimspa event that is to take place on the island. They are supposedly going to make a big splash in the "tribute" to Anna Nicole.
If this is true, that is bloody disgusting and just for that reason, the weasel should not get her at all. Besides they were not legally married not even under Bahamian law. The travesty was a commitment ceremony.
They also stated there are copies of messages Anna Nicole left her mother especially after Daniel's death. One in particular was when she was on the phone and she was incoherent and blubbering that Daniel had died. On the tape Howard K Stern's voice could be heard saying to her," what the hell are you doing?". He grabbed the phone and hung up. That was the last time Virgie heard from her daughter.
There is also this tidbit, it seems that Anna Nicole had expressed an interest in cleaning up her life, getting off drugs and she had supposedly contacted a place called The Compound and said she wanted to come in. They called back and Howard intercepted the calls.
Now if what Access Hollywood said is true, Howard K Stern might be the one behind the estrangement and he should definitely not get the body.
Surprising isn't it how he made himself the executor of her will, the be all and end all of her life and he ends up with ultimate control unless someone stops him.
He was present when Daniel died and also when Anna Nicole died. Such a weird coincidence.
As Executor of her will with what assets she has, he is set to earn upwards of $5 million. If the money comes in from the dead billionaire, that will go up dramatically

It disgusts me that all these people want to NOW get a piece of Anna--the ex, the estranged mother. Let the poor woman rest in peace. It is completely selfish of her mother to want her buried in a completely different part of the world from her son (she wants to bury her in Texas). Anna has made it clear various times--for her own personal reasons--of her dislike of her mother. If her mother loved her so much, why wasn't she trying to mend fences when Anna was alive? Sounds like mom is feeling guilty for lost opportunities and now wants to have Anna to herself to make her own self feel better. Too late in my opnion.

Anna was a mother herself. Even though it is obvious that she was messed up, it was also obvious that she loved her son Daniel more than anything in the world. She should have eternal rest next to him. Since he is buried in the Bahamas, that is where she should be. A true mother woudl honor a chid's wishes--even if she doesn't agree with them. End of discussion.

Her mother and Howard should cooperate on this and carry out Anna Nicole's wishes. This is just a sad, terrible situation all around. Of course, they won't cooperate.

honestly I think Anna should be buried next to her son Daniel

I think since Anna hasn't talked to her mother in 12 years that her mother has no rights. If Anna has wanted to be buried in Texas where her mom wants then she wouldn't have buried her son in the Bahamas.

The daughter. She is the next of kin, and Florida laws says that the next of kin has the right to the body.

Personally, I don't think either one of them should get her body. One is in it for the publicity, so he might not bury her where she wants to be buried. He doesn't deserve any more publicity than what he already got. The other one wants to bury her in Texas, which is probably not where she wants to be buried. And besides, she hasn't spoken to her daughter in ages, so she wouldn't know what's in ANS's best interest.

Keep her frozen like Ted Williams until her daughter comes of age, then let her daughter decide where to bury her mother.

Anna Nicole (not her real name) and her mother did not even get along with each other. Fact is, they practically hated each other. I think her mother is only wanting some of her money. She had no use for her daughter while ahe was alive, why is she so interested in her not that shes dead?

Anna Nicole swore to never speak to her mother again. This implies that there was something REALLY wrong with that relationship. No, her mother shouldn't get the body. If her daughter wouldn't even talk to her, why would her daughter want her organizing her burial?

It's not about who "gets her body". Anna should be buried next to her beloved son in the Bahamas. That is what she wanted...any fool can see that.
