Hi Babycakes,
I am so happy for you!. Birds are awesome pets, I have nine of my own and it wasn't always easy coming up with names. What I have done in the past if I couldn't come up with a name right a way I would spend a few days observing the bird and learn about his or her characteristics and can usually come up with a suitable name to fit his or her personality.
As far as the sex of the bird, generally speaking the male is more colourful and attractive verses the female. You can also obtain books on the Larikeet from the pet store or other places that may give you an overall well rounded perspective on the bird as a whole, which I strongly suggest. If you know of an experienced avian veterinarian you can also pay to have the bird DNA sexed but it is expensive. I wish you and your new bird a life time of happiness together.
Sincerely,
Alice H.

Make sure you pick a name your are happy with for your pet. Not just something someone on the internet told you. I gave you two links. The first lets you pick names for different backrounds. The second you can type in a meaning such as "beautiful" and it will give you a list of names with that meaning. Hope I helped;-)

oooo- those are gorgeous pretty birds.
OliveOYL- is my suggestion . She is supposed to be female but aside from the bun for a hairdo, she looks and moves in a masculine manner ( at least on the comics strip). If your birdie has a lot of green, this will be fitting
Other names
1. Cheeky, Chic Kay, Chico. Any red/orange on the head feathers, or wattle, Do these birds have wattles?
2. Shauna, can be modified to Shaun. So call him/her Shaunee. The birdie is you "son" so shaunee (Sonny) or sunny for lots of yellow and orange.

Think about its color, that helps. And a name that can go with a boy or girl, like Casey.
