Pregnancy
Teratogenic Effects: Pregnancy Category B. Reproduction studies have been performed in rats and rabbits at doses up to 160 times the human dose and have revealed no evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus due to ZANTAC. There are, however, no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Because animal reproduction studies are not always predictive of human response, this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.

I wouldn't recommend anything other than tums during the first 12-13 weeks. after that I would say yes, but you should ask your Dr for sure.
I took zantac during my pregnancy as a prescription.

Different doctors have different rules.
Mine told me to try Tums, Mylanta (keep it in the fridge) and all that, and when that didn't work, she told me it was OK to take double the over-the-counter dose of Zantac.
When THAT didn't work, I got a prescription for Prevacid. And that, my friend, finally did the trick.
Good luck.

You certainly can. I'm mom to 3 and I took it with all 3 pregnancies with the doctors blessings. It helps keep the heartburn at a minimum and you can feel better.

Not necessarily, depends on what medicine you are talking. In most cases allopathic medicines are taken after meals. In homeopathy mostly medicines are taken empty stomach. In others it depends on the medicines. It is always good to take the advice of the doctor prescribing the medicine.

I actually asked my doctor last visit what I could take and she told me to take Pepcid AC and tums/rolaids in between.
