once a movie is locked, how many times will it be released again. For example, sleeping beauty was released as a "Special Edition" dvd but was then locked in the vault. In about 2 or 3 years it will probably be re-released (or so ive heard) as a "platinum edition/ 50 year anniversary" dvd. will it be locked up again after that and still have another dvd higher than the platinum edition, or does disney stop after the platinum edition and keep them out without locking them up. do the new dvds (platinum edition in this case) have what the special editions or earlier copies of the dvds have, but with more? thanks for your help

C'mon man--this is Disney we are talking about. They have come up with the most BRILLIANT way to make money hand over fist on their DVDs with rereleasing movies for a "short time" and then pulling them for several years. Brillian piece of merchandising. It wasn't originally called the Disney vault when they were still doing VHS tapes that way. I think they started calling it that more recently.

They will rerelease a movie indefinitely---because there are always going to be new customers to the market--i.e. families with young kids. They can package them any way they want. I'm sure there is no set formula or timeline. Just as long as the money keeps rolling in.
