Don't worry, it's very normal to have irregular periods when you are just starting out. It doesn't mean anything.

First, congratulations on joining the ranks of women.
Now, to answer your question. It takes your body a few years after your first period to adjust to it's new role. While that happens, your cycles can be all over the place.
Further, a period can be from 4 - 7 days, so you're fine here.
If you haven't already done so, talk with your mother or other older female relative. They've all been there and they can help you greatly. They will also want to celebrate your new status with you.

When you first start menstruating, your period will probably be a bit irregular. But honestly, from the 13th to the 17th is a perfectly reasonable length for a period, especially if it's your first one! Nothing to worry about. :)

Cycles are very "abnormal" when you first start getting them. They may be light, heavy, last a couple days, or last several days. As the months go by, your body will eventually become more regular.

Very normal, and since you are just starting you may even skip your next period or spot a little in between here and then.

When you first start your period and as you enter peri-menopause, your periods are irregular. For you they will become regular. Don't worry, it is completely normal for you to have irregular periods.
