If a child weighs 30 lbs then divide 30 pounds by 5 pounds. This would give you the answer of 6. You said the dosage of medicine is a 1/2 teasppon for each 5 lbs of weight. It would take 6 (1/2 teaspoons) to make up the dosage you are saying would be necessary to give of this medicine. The best thing though would be to call or see your child's doctor/pediatrician.

Well it's pretty easy. 5 pounds goes into 30 pounds 6 times (5x6=30) so 1/2 teaspoon x 6 = 3 teaspoons

Okay. For every two pounds you give the baby 1/2 teaspoons. First how many two pounds are in 30 pounds. 15 right. Then multiply that by 1/2. You will get 7.5. Your answer will be 7.5 teaspoons for a 30 pound baby.

my daughter was premature but still weighed 8lbs 4oz at birth. Her weight has always concerned me for the same reason. Just does not matter what i offer her she just picks at it or scarfs it down no happy medium. She is now 9 yrs old and weighs only 53lbs. I knew 3 yr old that out weighed her when she was 6! I still know some 5 yr old that out weigh her now. The doc is not concerned becuz she is not loosin weight. you are not alone. If the docs dont want to run tests then just watch her closely and keep a journal of what she is eating if it doesn't add up take it in the to the doc with you and they can figure out something from there. Also something that helped my daughter on low appetite days was pediasure. it tastes like a milkshake to a kid when they are really cold. it helped my daughter maybe you could try it. it can not hurt her unless she is lactose intolerant.
