It depends what the shirt is made of...

There has to be at least 50% cotton in your shirt for it to really shrink... and if you want it to shrink, you can't just throw it in the dryer... you have to wash it first. The best way to shrink it is to wash it in hot water and then put it in the dryer. You might not be pleased with the results, tho... it all depends on how the material was cut. It could shrink lenghtwise or widthwise... Perhaps you should consider just returning it and getting a smaller size...

Is the shirt cotton?
Would hot water and the dryer work?

Ive done it before but you should probably wash it first
