More confidence might help.
Granted the easiest way to gain confidence is other people's appreciation, however anything you do that you are good at (or helps you become better at it, will raise your confidence.
Try dancing. It's tough to start but if you keep at the lessons you will feel like a star when you are dancing and nothing else will matter.
I had depression last year. I pretty much diagnosed myself, by knowing the key symptoms (eg, crying non-stop, tired no matter how much sleep, didn't want to get out of bed because I could not think of a good reason to). I knew the key steps to take: get out of bed every day and go to work, exercise everyday hopefully a group sport, continue to see friends even if you have to tell them you are sad and will just listen or watch, eat well. I got though it.
To answer your original question, my personal experience with what life's purpose is, will continue to change. I don't believe in God, however some people dedicate their lives to that belief.
I'm 23 and still struggling to know what to do with my life. My latest resolution is that if I do as many things as possible with my life in order to find the one thing I love and am passionate about then at 80 I will look back and realize that the journey was much more special than finding out.
It's not the purpose that's important. It's how many amazing things you do while being alive.

use what talent's you possess
to accomplish great things, we not only act but also dream, not only to plan but also to believe
as soon as you start to purse a dream, your life wakes up and everything has meaning
there are only two ways to live life. one as though nothing is a micracle and one as though everything is a miracle
in your heart keep one secret spot, where your dreams may go so they thrive and go
go confidently in the direction of your dreams. live the life that you have imagined
dreams can be challeging, but challegens are what we live for
keep your dreams alive understand to achieve anything requires faith and believe of yourself, vision, hardwork, determination, and detecation.remeber all things are possible for those who belive
if you can imagine it you can create it
if you can dream it you can become it
dreams come true without possiblility, nature would not incite us to have them
it's not the length of life but the depth of life
help other achieve your dreams and you will achieve yours
life is a promise fufill it
you only live once but if you work it right once it enough
never never never give up!
ur question:what is the purpose of life?
my anwser:
WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?
you can go on from there.................

maybe its time to look in the mirror. im sure everyone has felt that way at one time or another, i know i have, and it was all brought on by me. i was in a self pity mode, but i knew deep down i was the only one who could change things. i changed everything i did. started hanging with different people and doing things that id never done before. you are in a rut and need a new mindset. it sounds like you have a problem you need to get rid of, probably the sooner the better, i might be wrong but, good luck.

probably almost everyone has times in their lives like this. the most important thing to remember is that it is not permanent. some times are better than others.
also sometimes people do appreciate, but dont express it.
you should still do what you are doing... because if it for good, the act itself is more important anyway than the appreciation.
many great artists, leaders, and other people are not appreciated in their time.
take care of yourself. life is beautiful and so is everyone here.
if you want a good place to check out how to find purpose... this is a good website... (I have no connection) www.stevepavlina.com there are many others... and frankly the search is a lifelong journey for most

Nothing could make you feel better if you don’t ease on yourself by yourself.
I think that you have to look inside yourself and think of what could you do to improve your way of thinking because that’s what all about, our way of thinking and then you’ll realize what you have to do and create for your own happiness as well as for others. Don’t hesitate to help anyone, believe me you’ll feel that you are worthy and meaningful.

You may be learning, even growing in strength, in ability to see things from the right focus even though you are crying.
