Out of all the stories available in the Bible to share with 2nd graders, is that particular one necessary to teach at this point in their young lives? If you must, then say that Lot did not want the townspeople to bother his guests and so he offered to let them visit with his daughters but the townspeople were not interested. This is an issue that troubles adults and is definitely beyond the comprehension of 7 and 8 year olds.

I remember having a children's book of bible stories and the story was in there all sanitized for kids. Maybe you can find a children's bible and read it to them.
