how can i change my desktop background after a virus or spyware attack?

First and foremost did you get rid of the virus? and or spyware attack? If yes then right click on your desktop click properties then go from there.

Right click on desktop - select Properties
Select desktop tab and scroll down to access another - highlight it - click apply - click OK........good luck
