Dude...ette....A girl plays on my high school's team. and she played in all ten games (as an offensive guard), earing a varsity letter. It's not like she only played cuz we suck (we lost in state championships by 1 point), but shes good and shes determined. If you're determined, and you don't mind the **** the other players will give you (unless your totally amazing and shut them up, which would be sweet). Go for it. Try punt/kick-returner, wide receiver, or defensive back. Good luck

Go for it. It is not common, but there are girls playing football in high schools. I think the sister of Dan Koppen of the New England Patriots is doing so well playing High School football that she is being recruited to play in college.
I played High School Football with a kid that had only one arm. He had a lot of guts and determination. He would not take "No you can not play football," for an answer. Even with his physical limitations, he never back down. If you want something bad enough, you find a way to make it happen.
If you are smaller than other players, watch the movie Rudy. There are a lot of life lessons in that movie.

If you really want to go ahead. Just be ready to take crap from everybody. Your teammates probably wont treat you that well and they will be afraid to hit you. You will have to change and shower in a different locker room than your teammates. You will get tons of press from your local media. I mean I played high school football and I still cant imagine having a girl on the team. Some of the guys on the team wouldnt like it, the coach wouldnt like, some of your friends that are girls probably wont like it. You will have a lot of pressure on you to be good. Personally I dont think you would be making a good decision, but there is no real that girls cant try out for the football team.

Do you have any idea how many people make it to the NFL. There are probably over 5 million adolescent/teenage kids that have a dream of playing in the NFL. A NFL roster at the end of training camp has 80 players, there are 32 teams so that is 2560 players. So you have a 1 in 1953 chance of making to the NFL. But your chances are probably a whole lot smaller because it does not sound like you have played any type of organized football. Play Middle School Football it is experience that you will need. P.S. Have a plan B because there are so many useless adults that thought "I will make to the NFL, I don't need to try in school" but the truth is in the numbers 1 in 1953.

In this day and age, we try to be equal in everything we do. But their are somethings that boys can do that girls can't. Football is one of those sports. Yes, there are girls playing high school football, but is it safe for them? In my opinion, no it's not. With all the safety issues going on with tackle football and lasting effects of concussions. Injuries are very real in football and could happened at any time. I would not risk my daughter's safety. If your heart is in it, go for it, but be sure that you have the support and blessings of your family.

Do what ever you feel like doing. This is not the 1800s any more. If you love football and think you would make a good addition to the team go for it. Dont worry about what people are going to think or say, as long as you are comfortable (especially with all those guys) its all good.

Well, you have a RIGHT to play but you may not even make the team. Many guys try but do not make the varsity, or ever play or make the travel squad. Also, you may not like this but males are more muscular and naturally have larger frames and are (as a rule) athletically superior to females. Consider your chances for getting injured, maybe severely. Go to several practices and see how violent the hitting is. If none of this changes your mind, then go out for the team and good luck.

I think you should try to get on the team. One of the Arizona Universities I dont know which one. Either Arizona or Arizona State has or had a girl place kicker. Most coaches will probably give you a hard time about it cause having a girl on the team changes their (the male players) state of mind. You being on the team will effect the way the boy players think about how they play the game. They dont want to hit a girl as hard when they tackle...coaches hate that

Why can't girls play football in high school? they have the right to, it will just be harder for you to make the team. Just work harder than everybody else and keep your head up. Don't show your boobs to the other players either, because they're probably gonna ask for it.
P.S. Who was your cousin in the NFL?

If you really want to you can. But you should know that most of the boys will be stronger than you and that if the team is very good it may be hard to get picked. Also there will be people on your other teams and probaly your who will not want you to play and may pick on you. Only you can decide what you want to do. Just try your best and be happy with your desicion.
