Yes his leg will grow back with proper diet and great care. They do regenerate lost limbs during molting. You will see a clearish gel limb form and eventually it will molt and a smaller leg will grow in its place and then with each molt the leg will grow until it is full sized again. Make sure you feed it high protein and high calcium foods. Keep it free from stress so do not overly handle it and make sure the other crabs do not stress it out more. You do have at least one other crab right?? IF not go get at least one because being alone will cause it stress too since they live in colonies and not alone.
This is called post purchase stress and you must allow it to de-stress and be provided with good foods and nice hiding areas.

Hermit crabs sometimes lose their legs (including their claws), which can be grown back on subsequent molts. However, losing legs is often related to stress from living conditions (temperatures, humidity, cleanliness), so if you have a hermit crab losing legs, you should rule out any problems in their environment. Aggression from other crabs, mite infestation, wounds, or illness are other causes. While losing a limb is not death sentence for a crab, it is usually an indication of some sort of problem that needs attention immediately!

I think Hermit Crab's legs grow back. Star fish, earthworms and such regenerate what ever is missing.

Im not sure on the growing back, but he'll be fine. I have four, and if they get stressed or worried or whatever they'll do some odd funky things. But, he'll be okay, I promise.

as long as you provide your crabs with proper conditions they will molt and regrow limbs.
Proper conditions:
Minimum 10 gal tank with glass or plexiglass lid
substrate: playsand (moistened), eco earth, or forest bedding at least 1 and 1/2 times as deep as your largest crab is tall.
humidity: 72%-80%
temperature: 72F-82F
dechlorinated water bowl
dechlorinated salt water bowl (made with marine salt like oceanic or instant ocean)
food: shrimp, fish, beef, chicken, pork, all natural peanut butter, fresh fruits, and fresh vegetables
hiding places and things to climb on
if you have any questions please feel free to visit www.hermitcrabassociation.com we have alot of information on how to care for your crabs there and someone is usually available 24 hours a day

no, they are not regenerative
but yes it will be ok
it may appear that when they molt that it grew back however, it heals thick sometimes and it really didn't grow back.
