This emo crap that is popular won't last. I was around when glam was popular. Nirvana slayed the glam bands. Eventually a band like Nirvana will slay these emo bands.

Oh, yes, if you'd ask me this question 5 years ago, I'd tell you everything about them - the history, the names, the music. I used to have all their lyrics written down and pretty much memorized. I would not call it fading away, just taking their glorious place in the music history.
Kurt Cobain commited a suicide in 1994. Yes, he lived a short 27 years, but just look what an enormous contribution to the history of music he made! And, of course, the death of the heart and soul of Nirvana could not pass without the consequences, Krist Novoselic (bass) just pretty much disappeared from showbusiness. Dave Grohl (drums) made his own band Foo Fighters. Seems like he is still trying to stay afloat. My personal opinion to his music is that he should have probably never started singing. I don't know. Seemed like Cobain made them two glow in his light.
What concerns my love of their music, it took wonderful place in the past. But I am not the same anymore, and Nirvana stayed within.

Nirvana definitely won't fade away coz their sound has become a groundbreaking foundation for kids who lived through their music during their time, that includes me of course. They're the purveyors of pure angst, survival, poetry, satire, and all but heavy rock music. The only band that's coming close to them, in my opinion, is Silverchair.

The death of Kurt Cobain paved the way for a lot of bands to express themselves freely on their music by not being ashamed pouring out their anger and pain but still incorporating art and musicality.

I love nirvana, the people and their music :) ... i dont think that they're fading away i think they're legendery, i still get shocked when i talk about them and people dont know them! everyone thinks that courtney murdered kurt but i dont... i think he was very depressed, then she told him he had to go into rehab or he wouldnt be able to see his daughter, and she was what he was living for. I dont think courtney was wrong though, he was on alot of drugs, and it wasnt right for their child to be brought up around that sort of thing. He went to the rehab for a bit, but he couldnt do it, and he was worried about screwing his daughter up, so he killed himself. I think the reason he had enough heroine in his body to kill a horse and shot himself, was because he had taken an overdose a week before, and he was brought back, and he didnt want to be alive, so he shot himself, so nothing anyone could do would bring him back. Dont get me wrong, i absaloutely love kurt cobain and everything he stood for, and i love nirvana for all their songs =) they just rock ... true legends ^-^

As long as there are people that listen to Nirvana, they won't fade away.

I have thought about the whole suicide/murder thing, and I have decided that I have no idea how he died. Personally, I lean toward the suicide idea, but I would believe some kind of murder theory.

And I can't forget: Happy B-day Kurt! The big 4-0 if he was alive.

A lot of people said that courtney love tried to get someone to kill cobain. No one knows, he killed himself, thats all we know. Nirvana does seem to be fading away. Today's music tends to be more melodic and not the hard-rock, screaming off key, screeching guitars. Thats just how life is. It's ok, i still like nirvana, i love the song "man who sold the world" the one they did for MTV Unplugged.

Whew. Well. Yes. I love Nirvana. Always will. Serendipitous genius like that doesnt ever fade away. It was a once in a lifetime deal. Kurts music either touches you profoundly, or it doesnt. There is no doubt in my mind (i am an ancient 35) that his music and spirit will be with me always.

Just wait till you hear Smells like Teen Spirit being used to shill hamburgers or a cruiseline. Today I heard Iggy Pop and the Stooges song about heroine and male prostitutes being used to sell Caribean Cruises (Lust for Life) and The Violent Femmes song about hand-jobs and masturbation being used to sell Burger King.

Pray your songs go away. They stay fresh longer that way. I fell down sick and hurt inside when I heard that music used to in commercials. Love your music and pray it fades before some ad exec thinks it would be just the jingle they need to sell their anti-perspirent/deodorant.

I think Cobain did it because he saw that already happening.

I like Nirvana alot! i don't think their music will ever fade away...they're like the beatles or the stones. I think that Kurt shot himself, and I don't really think Courtney had anything to do with it.

Don't you dare say their music is fading. Just because they haven't had any new albums (not counting the box set) does NOT mean they have any less of a following. Kurt killed himself; Courtney had naught to do with it.
KDC forever!
