If you really want to see her, I suggest you take some time out of your life to go visit her at home. It's at times like this when friends are the most comforting thing someone has. If possible, see if you can get something going at your school to help her, but most of all, just be there for her. I don't know about how the custody works, but if at all possible, keep her away from her mother, but don't go outside the law, as that most likely will cause more stress. Just be there for her as much as you can. I hope for the best.

Talk to your guidance counselor at school. It sounds like a social worker should be involved since your friend is not mentally of physically well right now. I would make it clear to your counselor that your friend is sick and needs help. They will help you get her the help she needs.

What kind of eating disorder is it if it's not anorexia or bulemia?
I would just pray - it sounds like you don't have any say in this, unfortunately. Just be there for your friend - she needs you during this time.
