its a combination of sprints and long distant running. push your self to run faster for every run you do. On ever sprint push your self to run as fast as you can. You may not notice any improvement but when it comes time to show off your speed you will be impressed. I would recommend the shuttle run (sprints to lines) and also taking 6 cones or anything you can use as a marker. place five of them (one foot apart) in a line and the last one about 5-10 feet away. hop and chop over the five cone and then on the last of the five cones sprint to the one thats 5-10 feet away. this will help build up your leg speed. theres a lot of different exercises for the cones. best of luck with the conditioning.

Hey bro, I recommend you practice a lot of sprints and also long distance running. Short sprints will help you in your reaction time, especially when changing directions, and long distance will help you in your stamina and speed. But you will have to practice it all the time so you can get use to it. Also, while you are doing this, develop your calf muscles (work out legs) because those are the muscles that will give you the explosion you need to start running fast. But practice and work out bro and you will se the results in a few weeks.

What you need to do is to develop your leg muscles by doing some simple exercises everyday. You should run up some stairs for at least 30 minutes a day and do some simple long distance running for at least 30 minutes. Hopes this helps and good luck.

Usually you can breath in through your nose and out through your mouth to keep a consistant time. Breathing too fast (in out of mouth) can cause your throat to dry and then cause coughing. When you run, try to raise you legs up to cover a larger distance. Never keep your legs stiff because it will make your muscles weak. When you move your arms, bring your shoulders back and forth along with the elbow area to create a streamlined movement. Good luck. Hope I helped! â¥

ask you track coach at your school. it might also help if u joined the team. they do a lot of conditioning work specifially made to get faster where as other sports dont focus on it as much because theyre so spread out.

try leaning forward when you run..
this will angle your legs to push off the ground opposed to lifting your entire body with your legs...
