I'm am getting ready to buy a 150 gallon fish tank and I love to watch my fish swim around. If you could put any kind of FREASHWATER fish in what would you do and how many? Also what live plants would you get?

You would not be able to put every freshwater fish as some are not "community" type fish. I had a 55 gallon with an alligator gar, a large oscar, a couple dempseys, and a large catfish. I wouldn't have put a tetra or angel fish in there unless I was looking to buy expensive feeder fish. Your local pet store should be able to provide some of the basic information but I would recommend a decent freshwater aquarium fish book that describes the fish in more detail than the average Petco/Petland employee could handle. (1x55 gal marine; 1x55 gal fresh; 1x20 gal fresh; 3 turtles; 1 hamster; 1 gerbil; 1 dog) (oh, 2 kids...do they count as pets too...j/k)

I've always wanted to do a South America themed tank. A bunch of cardinal, glowlight, and maybe neon tetras for starters. And can't forget about the corydoras. Corydoras leopardus (Julii is the common name) and Corydoras arcuatus (Skunk is the common name) are my favorites. Gonna need a plecostomus or two too. With a tank that big I would get a couple more obscure ones. And to top it off German Blue Rams. Not sure if there's a prettier peaceful fish out there but hey that's just my opinion.

I'd get a pair of midas cichlids or flower horns. Something big & evil. Maybe oscars & a green terror.
