Wenger is just saying that because he views the FA Cup similarly to the way that all of the big four clubs do-- it's a bit of an inconvenience that gets in the way of the season's real goals of winning the Premiership and Champion's League. So having to play yet another FA Cup game is going to tire his players out more, which will lead to a weaker team for the League matches in the same time period. I'm an Arsenal fan, but I find this logic to be extremely lame. If you want to win the FA Cup this year, you'll have to play another game Wenger. If you want to rest your guys instead, let Blackburn have the trophy. I'm sure they'll appreciate it more than you will anyway.

This doesn't make sense because this will make us ask ourselves; if so is it going to be in a neutral venue?

There is no way Man U can play extra time to penalty at Reading stadium as that will only give the home side an advantage... The only game you find normal for that is the carling cup final because it will be played in a neutral venue.

Thanx!

Absolutely but the one match should be played on neutral ground. I think replays are taxing the EPL clubs a tad too much considering the heavy fixtures of the top clubs. Say what you like the existing situation has a bearing on overall clubs' performances, directly or indirectly. There's also one too many competition in English football.

if you are a real gunner you need to respect whatever the manager says .Second of all replays make the players tired and penalties are
too interesting. So in all i agree with the manager.

Wow - everyone just finished discussions that penalty shoot-outs were unfair (due to WC) now it starts on on replays (due to FA Cup).

Some people are never happy.

Seriously I prefer replays at WC and latter stages of FA Cup but penalties for earlier FA Cup stages.

its better to play extra time and penalties but,

it is not fair for the team that plays outside his town because in penalties the supporters (fans) have an effect on the one who will shoot the penalty

i agree with his statement, sometimes the replays created even more fixture pile-up especially when teams are still in all domestic cup competition & in Europe. the team will likely to play two matches in a week & not forgetting there are also international friendly matches & the 2008 UEFA European Championship qualifiers to content with.

No, it is a great acheivement for the smaller clubs in the competition to hold the so called bigger clubs to a draw and to take them "back to their place".
Wenger is only concerned with Arsenal and the big European games coming up which is understandable.

Yes

absolutely not. if you can't finish off your opposition in regular time, that means your team is not good enough.

replays are a fair way to settle a tie. if the match is still not settled, it will eventually go to extra time and then penalties.
