Well, basically just try and find shirts that fit your style. Like, if you don't want to look TOO girly, stay away from floral patterns and shirts that say stuff like: "Cutie" or "I love shopping" and stuff like that. Vintage shirts (like this: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_7/601-9021843-4804921?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000JV39MG) or music shirts (like the guitars on this one:http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_12/601-9021843-4804921?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000LO5XXE) are good to start out with. You say you wear big shirts, so since you want to dress girly kind of, then you should buy shirts that fit normal. "Fitted shirts" aren't always the best way to go because they can shrink and get more fitted than you want them to.
You don't have to start out with designs, you can get solid color shirts that have a nice neckline and cut to them (like this:http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/Products.aspx?DeptID=597&CatID=39142&CatTyp=LFS&ItemTyp=G&GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=10ed19f&ProdSeq=5&Cat=fashion+tops&Dep=Women&PCat=Tops%2bTees&PCatID=30392&RefPage=ProductList&Sale=&ProdCount=37&RecPtr=&ShowMenu=&TTYP=&ShopBy=0&RefPageName=CategoryAll.aspx&RefCatID=30392&RefDeptID=597&Page=1&CmCatId=597|30392|39142) and this: (http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/Products.aspx?DeptID=597&CatID=39142&CatTyp=LFS&ItemTyp=G&GrpTyp=SIZ&ItemID=11010e8&ProdSeq=11&Cat=fashion+tops&Dep=Women&PCat=Tops%2bTees&PCatID=30392&RefPage=ProductList&Sale=&ProdCount=37&RecPtr=&ShowMenu=&TTYP=&ShopBy=0&RefPageName=CategoryAll.aspx&RefCatID=30392&RefDeptID=597&Page=2&CmCatId=597|30392|39142) and play them up with accessories. For example, the 2nd link is a blue top. So you could wear earrings, necklaces, or bracelets that are white, black, gold, silver or the color of the shirt-blue. Some girls think that accessories are either 1.) too expensive or 2.) make you look overly dressed up. Both are not true if you learn how to accessorize correctly. You can find great accessories at Target, Walmart and Claire's. And even a pair of earrings and a bangle can make an outfit look nice. Even belts can help out too.

Make up is also a key part too. You don't have to cake the make up on. Just a nice shade of eyeshadow and little lip gloss can go a long way. You don't need a whole lot-or else the make up won't make you look natural-it'll make you look fake. Take a friend or your mom along and pick out a little make up. You can buy mascara, lip gloss, blush-whatever part of your face you wanna make stand out. Remember to find shades of make up that fit your skin tone and eye color.
You can check out the magazines at drugstores and flip through them. Some people get their ideas of dressing from there or look and see what their friends and family wear or create their own look. It's your call. Do whatever you want. :)

Everytime your parents say something like "don't you look cute" just say thanks. They're just saying that you look nice. But it's also okay to tell them nicely that it makes you feel sort of uncomfortable too. They should understand.

I hope I helped!

your parents don`t seem as though they will get the hint that even though you want to dress up, you don`t want an issue made of it. Why not tell them how you really feel about it, say mom, dad, sit with me for a bit, I`d like to discuss something that I just can`t deal with, and I`m sure they will give you a little more consideration. I`m no expert, but have been wearing pretty, sexy, and cute girlie clothing for over 30 years, the easiest way to look hott, pretty, sexy, whichever look you are going for is really pretty easy, once you get used to it. first you have to decide style, once you decide what style of clothing will get the look you want, look at the clothing in department stores that you are interested in, usually they will show other items that go well with that piece of clothing, look on e bay, they have fantastic clothing for cheap, nice stuff too, but I can`t help but think that isnt the problem, are you self sonsious about wanting to dress like a girl? if so, the chat with your parents should ease those feelings, some. and once you get that behind you, the clothing for juniors is so hot, very cute, just short skirt, flats or even rennis shoes, a nice button up collared shity, thats it, so many department stores will bend over backwards to help you get the look you want, i think you only need to quit worrying about having people notice you when you wear cute feminine clothing, you`ll do fine, and I hope you get the other issue put away and move on to other things that are going to be more important, like all the guys who will be buggin ya when yer all hotted up

well, i suggest u slowly start the "girly" transformation. maybe u could buy 1 or 2 purses to mix it up a bit. then, u can make a fun but feminine hairdo and if heels are just too much, u can buy sum flats. (easier to walk in!!!) after just a little while longer, u can wear that cute top of yours, and if ur parents say sumting about it, (like mine do) just laugh and say, "i know."
hope this helps.

Start off slow with jeans and a nice sweater or top that is girly. You don't have to jump in and wear skirts and dresses, but some nice jeans and a nice shirt (doesn't have to be overly girly) will start you off nice.

look @ forever21.com and forever21 stores, its mondo girly. also abercrombie and hollister and american eagle outfitters. if you want to be girly but with a tom boyish edge look at pacsun. they have cute surfer/skater clothes that arent goth or punk!

and just tell your parents that you dont like to hear what they think and that hey should keep it to themselves.
