The 419 scam is where people from Ghana and Nigeria send you an email saying they have your consignment ready and will ship it to your destination as soon as we can send 550.00 for registering it. They then send a so called diplomat and you meet him and it is then they tell you due to local regulations you need a Anti-laundering certificate and it will cost 4600.00 they will then show you a sample of the money and then leave with the funds and it's over. Also I have been stupid twice as I feel for the Black Money scheme and it was not a good deal so far and of course the last I have lost 8000.00 dollars. These people are very convincing. Now why doesn't CNN ever cover stories like this and help us victims of these scams.

CNN did cover this story when those e-mails began appearing heavily a while back, they covered it on June 26, 2006. I've been getting these e-mails about twice a month now, people just need to be cautious. Even before they covered the story, people were receiving these e-mails. Please be careful in paying for things that you did not request in the first place, and for "prizes" that you won without even entering in a contest.

You sound like a very over trusting person
Don't believe anything you get in emails
specially when it comes to money.
If its to good to be true 99.9 percent of the time it is not true.
Ive gotten those emails they get deleted just like the rest of the junk mail I get. Its fraud just like the emails spammers send to try to get your bank account numbers and SS numbers. If im not at the bank itself or call them my self they dont get my numbers. No way No How

No, those people aren't "very convincing." You're just very stupid, and you deserve what you get.
