I find it to be nasty and a lack of self respect. They'll say they're not afraid to show it. I say they're too afraid to dress decently.

I'm a sober dresser myself....(though I think a modest amount of cleavage is okay if ur dressed for an occasion), but here's an incident from my life that could show why so many women today are not afraid to bare more & more.

I went to the supermkt once dressed in sweats & a tee...I had to wait quite a bit b4 I cud get my veggies weighed. Few days later, I'd gone to a friend's house & then stopped by the same supermkt only this time I was wearing a low-necked halter (under a jacket, so I was still pretty decent in my opinion). The same guy was there....and this time I got a smile, a "Hi, how are you?".....bt what really mattered to me: prompt service.

This is just one of many examples I'm sure takes place in most women's lives. Most of us aren't attention-seekers....its not tht we crave male attention. But we realize something early in life....the prettier / sexier u look, the faster u can get things done for u. Of course, thr are some women who blatantly exploit their looks & will use them in every way. Again, most of us aren't like that....we have limits we'll never cross, so we may just offer a bright smile.

But u know what keeps reinforcing this belief: the reaction of men. Not all of them think like you do. Not all of them would shower equal treatment on women regardless of how they're dressed.

Why women show cleavage?
Girls are "conditioned" from a young age to be feminine and attract boys' attention. In search for this attention many women would go to great lengths, including indecent exposure. Since showing cleavage seems to attract attention, they do it. Some hint is okay but not to the extent the breats are bouncing out of the top. Stupid, if you tell me.

Got no idea, some genetic stupidity on their part, I guess. I worked with a girl who had a Barbie Doll figure; wore sheer bras and t-shirts and painted-on pants and got furious because no guy would look her in the eyes when they talked to her, and they all made passes at her. She probably still does, 10 years later...she never understood what I meant when I told her she wouldn't have the problem if she'd put some clothes on!

Some women might be proud that they have breasts, some just don't know what to do with them. Others may think that showing so much gives them more sex appeal when to a lot of people it is indecent. A little hint of cleavage isn't that bad.

Women get turned on when they turn on men. So many will use their assets this way. Also attention is always sort of an ego boost.
Same reason guys will wear wife beater tank tops. To show off muscles and get attention.

I'm with you on this one. It's not sexy, it's tacky and classless, even if they're young and good looking. It's amazing how many oldish and big women are now showing cleavage. And I'm your typical male horndog. I guess I haven't answered your question, I wonder the same thing.

Just for attention. And then they complain about how men stare at their chest! Luckily (or unfortunately) I don't have to deal with that. It takes a push-up bra and massive amounts of squishing 'em together to make me have cleavage.

I find it just as sickening.
The only place I have cleavage is on my a** (and it shouldn't be shown either. My proctologist, so far, is the only one, aside from my sweetie, to see it).

I don't like mine showing.I don't like the idea of guys looking at it.It makes me feel 'dirty'.So, I try to wear non revealing attire.
