How is your hay/feed? Is it dusty or moldy? Do you have him in an enclosed pen with little air flow? A deep cough is usually from being stuck inside too long with dust particles, whether from feed, bedding, or just general air flow.
It is nothing to worry about, as long as everything else is normal, but try to let him outside a bit for some fresh air. Horses, goats, and cows all get that deep cough when cooped up inside too long.

alot of things could cause it. like the others said. feed and surroundings. dust ect,
but to help ease the cough without taking him ot a vet. get some alovea from a health shop. its like juice. its for humans to drink. but i give it to my horses when they get coughs. get a syringe and squirt it down its troaght. twice a day for a couple of days. they should help

catch :)

Check your hay. If it is old and dusty that will cause coughing
