Cow tipping is an urban legend. If you start applying the laws of physics, it would take at least a half dozen people to push a cow over. That is, provided you can get him/her to stand still long enough!

it's just a myth. it is an excuse to go out and have fun. nobody has, or can do it.
how do i know all of this? i have raised cattle for 30 years. i have LOTS of them.
why is it not possible? many reasons, cows do not sleep standing up. they sleep lying down. they might sleep 1 or 2 hours per day. (young calves sleep more). they usually stay awake all night.
cows are always in groups, when one rests, others "stand guard" and alert any sleeping animal of something approching. when humans approach they stand up and move away. it is a survival instinct born into them.
cows are big, most grown cows weigh 1000-1300#, dairy breeds are bigger. pushing one over is like pushing a volkswagon beetle over.
to get a cow on the ground takes several skilled cowhands and ropes, a drunk or naive young person will never do it.
ichallenge anyone to come to my place and tip one. if you can do it, i'll give you $1000, if you can't , you pay me $100.

I've never tipped a cow, but having lived on a beef farm, I would think it would be very hard to do. Cows are really heavy. And they get mean if you go after them. My sister's friend got bit by a cow once... On another, slightly random note, I did have a pet cow named Benjamin as a child. He died when he got hit by lightning during a large storm. However it wasn't the lightning that killed him. It was the fact that he fell over into a pond and couldn't get back up. He drowned. FYI, that is a true story, I didn't make it up. Fortunately my childhood was twisted enough that it was just another day to me...

With what would you tip the cow? More hay, apples, candy? Cows do a great job but I don't think they even know what a tip is.

i have heard it mention on several shows on tv i live on a farm and if i was cruel i bet you can tip a cow cause they sleep standing up alot and it would be easy to get them off balance but i would never hurt a cow their worth alot of money these days why chance hurting them

Your kidding right? yes It is possible some cows sleep standing up so if you sneak up on the them and push them the don't have enough time to react before hitting the ground. This is one of those if you don't believe me go do it.

Yes cow tipping is very posible, I do it all the time, but it doesn't matter to me weather my waitress is a cow or not, I still tip 15 - 20%.

sure it's possible..takes about 5 strong people to tip a cow..facts..come to the ranch and i'll show you in person

Yes. It is probably possible but oh so mean! How would you like someone pushing you over just for a laugh? Helllloooo. Comedy Central can do that and requires no evil!
