There's no reason to get offended or something cause what you did was great and came with a lot of honesty unlike others, they would rather keep it, right? So, if I were you, I would accept the note because it's somewhat a token of appreciation of what I did. And I would thank him of course. It's just a matter of the "give-and-take" thingy. :)
